About
Tiger Tam is a stage and film actor, dancer, and black belt martial artist, born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She has been seen in plays, commercials, and TV, including Season 5 of Magnum P.I. Recently, Tiger landed a role in the feature-length adaptation of Hawaii filmmaker's Alika Tengan's award-winning short, Moloka‘i Bound.
Tiger graduated from UCLA, where she was a member of LCC Theatre Company, alumni including Randall Park and Ali Wong. There, she performed improv and wrote and acted in original one-act plays. She quickly caught the improv bug and went on to train at UCB Los Angeles. During her time in undergraduate, Tiger lived in Bordeaux, France for five months, studying French and American cinema.
Her love of both cinema and martial arts began at a young age, when she saw the Ang Lee film, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. At four years old, she began studying Hung Gar and Choy Lee Fut Kung Fu at Au's Shaolin Arts in Honolulu, under sixth degree black belt Ben Seng Au. In 2012, she was inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame as Jr. Black Belt of the Year. She currently is a Kung Fu and lion dancing instructor with Au's Shaolin. She is also a blue belt in Brazillian Jiujitsu and has competed and won gold in both gi and nogi.
Outside of acting, Tiger is an avid surfer and has earned a podium finish in tandem surfing at Duke's Oceanfest in Waikiki. To bring her physical skills to the stage and screen, Tiger began taking stunt work and tricking classes in L.A., at Joining All Movement (JAM) and Tempest Freerunning Academy.
Tiger is currently based in Hawaii and L.A. and continues her acting training at Z/A Studios.
